Capital Campaign for Cell Therapies

The John Paul II Medical Research Institute (JP2MRI) launched a One Million Dollar Capital Campaign Drive in 2015 to start the process of developing adult stem cell therapies. The JP2MRI's mission focuses on regenerative medicine in which adult stem cells will be used to treat patients with chronic diseases like cancer, pulmonary disease and neurodegenerative disorders. Before the Institute could initiate adult stem cell clinical trials, the FDA requires that adult stem cells need to be manufactured in a "clean room" or sterile room.  However, the fundraising goals and the infrastructure costs exceeded our projected costs.

To adapt to meet the expectation of advancing cell therapy, the Institute will be entering into a joint venture partnership with private enterprises to de-risk the capital expenses and share research resources to achieve our mission of bringing cell therapies into a clinical trial.
